About Laura Tailor

I am a bespoke tailor, fashion stylist and designer and creator of sustainable fashion. Fashion and modelling have been my passions from a young age; my inspiration comes from my mother as she was a skilled seamstress.

My skills range from embroidery, crochet, knitting, designing and making clothes from a variety of different materials.

I have worked on Saville Row since 2017.                                       In 2018, I launched ‘Laura Tailor’ and graduated from Fashion Modist (Design). I was awarded ‘Best Designer in East London’ at the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange event at Buckingham Palace that year.

During the Covid-19 lockdown I had a lightbulb moment when the slogan ‘save our planet’ was repeated; I began to think about how my business could provide a sustainable service to my community by creating recycled clothing. I started collecting old denim clothing from family, friends and charity shops and creating new fashionable clothing from the old denim. I created several garments from dresses to jackets to trousers from old ripped jeans. I turned the leftover unused material into earrings and hair scrunchies to cut waste down to a minimum.

I now like to focus on sustainable and recycled clothing where possible as well as creating brand new garments to order.
